World Famous Shields Date Crystals® Shake

Makes a 16 oz Shields World Famous Date Shake

To make Date Paste:

1/4 cup of Shields Date Crystals®
1/4 cup of water
Mix well and freeze overnight.

To make Shields Famous Date Shake:

1/4 cup Frozen Date Paste from above
1 cup Vanilla Ice Cream
1/2 cup of very cold Milk
Blend with a drink blender and enjoy.

Hint: Make up a large quantity of the Date Paste and keep it in your Freezer for when the mood strikes.

Shields Date Crystals Sandwich Filling from 1954 recipe folder

3 oz creamed cheese
3 TBS cream
2 TBS mayonnaise
1/2 Cup Shields Date Crystals
1/2 Cup groung walnuts (optional)
Blend the cheese, cream and mayonnaise. Add the Shields Date Crystals and walnuts.

A customer wrote that she put this on Graham Crackers for her children as an
after school snack and is now doing the same for her grandchildren.

ADD THE ORANGE JUICE AND DATE PIECES OR FLAKES AND STIR. RESIFT FLOUR AND

BAKE IN A 10x10x2 INCH PAN FOR 50 MINUTES AT 350 DEG.

ADD FLOUR MIxTURE ALTERNATELY WITH MILK. BEAT SMOOTH AFTER EACH ADDITION.
ADD FRUITS, NUTS, DATE PIECES OR FLAKES AND VANILLA.

2 CUPS ROLLED OATS
1/2 CUP WHEAT GERM
1/4 CUP GREEN PUMPKIN SEEDS RAW HULLED
1/4 CUP SUNFLOWER SEEDS
1/4 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS
1/4 CUP WHITE SESAME SEEDS
1/4 CUP FLAX SEED
1/4 CUP SHREDDED COCONUT
1/4 CUP SHIELDS DATE CRYSTALS
3 TABLESPOONS HONEY
2 TABLESPONS CANOLA OIL
2 TEASPOONS CINNAMON
1/4 CUP SHIELDS DATE BITS In a large bowl, combine Oats, Wheat Germ, Pumpkin Seeds, Walnuts, Sesame Seeds,
Flax, Coconut and Shields Date Crystals.
Spread the mixture in an even layer on a large,
rimmed baking sheet or a 9x13pan.
Bake in 350 Degree oven for 10 munutes.
Transfer to a large bowl and then stir in the Date Bits.
In a small pan over a low heat combine the Honey, Oil and Cinnamon and
heat until warm, about 2 minutes. Add heated liquid to the Granola Mixture
and toss thoroughly to combine
