Medjool Chip Cake

1 cup boiling water
1 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup chopped Medjools
1/2 cup margarine
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp unsweetened cocoa

Topping:
3/4 cup chopped nuts
1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Pour water over Medjools; cool to lukewarm. Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour 13×9 inch pan. In large bowl, cream sugar, margarine, vanilla, and eggs. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Pour into prepared pan, Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips over batter in pan. Bake 35 to 40 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Enjoy!
